ForgeHide Leather · United Kingdom & USA

Cut, stitched and finished by us.

We buy the hide, choose the thickness and make the pattern. Every jacket, bag, boot, wallet, glove and belt on this site is made to order at our own bench — not bought in and relabelled.

Our workshop

The hide arrives whole. It leaves as a jacket.

We buy whole hides and grade them ourselves. One bench, one pattern per size, eight stitches to the inch. Nothing here was bought in and relabelled.

Suede, and a shearling collar

Those are the two shapes the autumn and winter 2026 trend reporting named first, and both are cut on our own bench. Eight pieces from the catalogue, each one made to order.

How a piece is made

Five steps, one bench

We cover leather because we cut, skive, stitch and finish it every day. First-hand manufacturing experience is the one thing the sites currently ranking cannot copy: every page can state what we did, on which hide, at what thickness, and why.

01

Choose the hide

We buy whole hides, not panels, and grade them ourselves for scars and stretch.

02

Cut the pattern

Every size is a separate pattern. Made-to-measure gets a pattern cut from your own eight measurements.

03

Skive and prepare

Edges are skived to 0.4 mm so seams sit flat instead of bulking.

04

Stitch

Post-bed machine, 8 stitches per inch, bonded nylon thread. Stress points bar-tacked.

05

Finish

Edges burnished, hardware set, then a final grade before it is boxed.
